Job Summary
The music teacher will provide music lessons about how to sing or play a musical instrument to
students within the center or school settings. He/She will be carrying out the following roles an
d responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibility
? Planning, preparing and executing music lessons to students
? Acquiring appropriate teaching materials/resources
? Ensuring students are engaged in musical activities
? Teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to students
? Entering and preparing students for examinations
? Motivating students and encouraging progress
? Liaising with academic staff and/or parents, coaches
? Creating and maintaining a network of contacts to ensure work continuity
? Ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of FSM related and other events like exa
ms, recitals, competitions etc.
? Assessing students abilities, providing feedback and writing reports
? Planning & Executing recitals/concerts for students
? Keeping financial, administrative and business records
? Advertising or publicizing the business
Skills Required
? Educational Skills: Specialist in western classical vocals, Trained /accredited with Trinity
College of London/ABRSM/LCM or any other recognized board for Piano/Keyboard/Guit
ar/Drums/Tabla, Teaching Music in Schools or who is passionate about Music with no fo
rmal training.
? Good Communication & Interpersonal Skills
