Job Description

The teacher has the responsibility to lead students toward the fulfillment of his/her potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological, and social growth. Teachers are responsible for stimulating maximum learning on the part of the students assigned to them by providing a good environment and by guiding sound curriculum experiences and activities in the classroom, the school, and the community. The teacher reports to the building principal or other designated person.

Professional Work Responsibilities:

Ø  Preparing daily and long-term lesson plans according to curriculum guidelines.

Ø  Developing children’s interests, abilities and coordination using a variety of creative activities including art, sport and music.

Ø  Maintaining productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.

Ø  Supervising students throughout the day, both in the classroom and outside during breaks.

Ø  Attending staff meetings and training and development sessions.

Ø  Assessing and evaluating students’ educational progress and abilities.

Ø  Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students.

Ø  Discussing students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.

Ø  Organizing, attending and supervising school activities such as excursions, school concerts, camps and sporting events.

Ø  Maintain and update attendance records as well as school discipline.

Ø  Test and analyze students for customized progress in oral and written work.

Ø  Organize classroom as well as learning resources to develop positive learning atmosphere.

Ø  Motivate students with enthusiasm and imaginative presentation.

Ø  Prepare and facilitate positive student development.

Ø  Use creative activities such as art, music and sport to engage students and develop their creativity and coordination.
