SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

· Encourage high standards in all aspects of school life, particularly in student progress

· Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the school

CURRICULUM:

· Plan and teach lessons following the IB, IGCSE and A-Level curricula that differentiate for individual student needs

· Use a wide range of technologies and creative teaching styles.

· Plan with colleagues to deliver effective team teaching when possible.

· Develop assessment tasks following IB / IGCSE / A-Level / ICT guidelines and use a wide range of testing, reviewing and quizzing tools.

· A passion for the new computing curriculum

· A competent programmer up to A Level standard (preferably in Python) who should be able to teach object-oriented programming and have a good understanding of ADTs such as stacks, queues, hash tables and binary trees

COMMUNICATION:

· Ensure and oversee clear communication with Promethean families in regard to student learning.

· Support teachers in their communication with parents.

· Provide workshops, information sessions and coffee mornings for parents.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESPONSIBILITIES: · Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught · Make sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning · Generate enthusiasm for the subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their potential · Liaise with the Head of Department and learning support where a student may have special educational needs and with the form tutor and Head of House if a student is experiencing pastoral difficulties · Promote high standards of behavior by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students · Set homework according to policy and pertinent to the student’s ability and wider workload · Promote high standards of organization · Be punctual to lessons · Provide high quality, accurate, constructive and targeted information to parents at Parents' Evenings, in subject reports, incidental meetings and communications · Assess, record and monitor the progress of all students according to faculty guidelines in order to provide accurate information to parents in a variety of forms, as and when necessary · Maintain materials and resources as needed

Who can develop content for all subjects by using appropriate teaching and learning strategies for learners of different ages of their middle schooling.

The ideal candidate will have in depth subject related knowledge and understanding of concepts in all subjects. Knowledge of pedagogy and willingness to learn and unlearn is an essential quality. Prior experience in developing educational content or teaching (minimum 3 years) will be an added advantage.

The PSP Coordinator will have to collaborate with subject matter experts to create integrated content, and should thus have excellent collaboration and communication skills. The ability to manage time well and meet timelines is also essential.
